Citadel Layer Yriel Yellow is a bright, medium yellow named for Prince Yriel of Craftworld Iyanden, the legendary Aeldari admiral who sacrificed himself to wield the Spear of Twilight. It is the standard yellow layer paint in the Citadel range — applied over Averland Sunset or Zamesi Desert as the primary yellow mid-tone that gives yellow armour its vivid character, sitting in the colour chain between the darker basecoats and the pale Phalanx Yellow or Flash Gitz Yellow highlights.
Apply over Averland Sunset on Imperial Fists pauldrons and armour panels after washing with Agrax Earthshade, covering the raised surfaces with vivid yellow before edge highlighting with Dorn Yellow. Works for Ork yellow vehicle markings, Age of Sigmar armies with yellow accents, and any model with yellow as a primary or prominent secondary colour.
