Citadel Layer Warpfiend Grey is a medium, warm grey-purple — a colour that sits in an unusual position between neutral grey and desaturated purple, making it particularly suited to Chaos daemon skin mid-tones and the warp-tainted surfaces of daemonic models where the skin should suggest corruption and otherworldliness without being overtly purple or obviously grey. The name references the Warpfiend, one of many daemonic creature types.
Apply over a mid-grey or dark grey base on Chaos Spawn skin mid-tones, on the grey warp-touched flesh of corrupted models, and on the surfaces of daemonic entities where the skin should have a slightly uncanny quality. Works as an alternative stone tone for Chaos-touched masonry and corrupted terrain, and for the muted grey-purple of Slaanesh and Tzeentch daemon skin in more subdued colour schemes. Also useful for shadow areas on Nighthaunt models alongside brighter spirit greens.
