Painting Aeldari Ulthwe: Clean Black Armor

Black armor is famously difficult because it can easily look flat or unfinished. For the Aeldari of Craftworld Ulthwe, you need a method that preserves the sleekness of the armor while defining the shape.

The Ulthwe Palette

  • Base: Abaddon Black
  • Highlight 1: Eshin Grey
  • Highlight 2: Dawnstone

The Masterclass Sequence

1. Smooth Black: Base with Abaddon Black. Ensure the surface is totally smooth.

2. Thick Highlight: Use Eshin Grey on all the prominent edges. This defines the silhouette.

3. Sharp Highlight: Switch to Dawnstone and only hit the absolute sharpest corners and points. This creates the illusion of light reflecting off a hard, polished surface.
